Rain, what rain? Hundreds support local produce day despite wet weather

The Biddenden team is celebrating after another successful Food Day in aid of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Trust. The 10th annual “Taste the Best of Produced in Kent” Food Day was set to be a wash out with the heavens opening as the producers arrived to set up, but despite this over 1,200 braved the wet weather to show their support and enthusiasm for local produce.

An impressive grand total of £4,555.50 was raised for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance from a combination of stall holders’ fees and donations, visitors’ donations, the Win a Mini raffle and the hamper raffle.

Congratulations to Jane Summerfield, Boughton Leas, Charlotte Friend, Tunbridge Wells and Adam Phillips, Singleton, who were the lucky winners of the three hampers, which were filled to the brim with a wonderful selection of Kentish goodies.
