Leeds Castle has teamed up with Kent Crisps to champion the county’s food, beverage and tourism offering in celebration of the Castle’s 900th Anniversary in 2019.
From November 2018, Leeds Castle will be the official face of Kent Crisps’ Sea Salt & Vinegar with Biddenden Cider flavour, in conjunction with this milestone anniversary. Leeds Castle and Kent Crisps hope this exciting new partnership will showcase just how much Kent has to offer: from its tasteful food and quality beverages, to its incredible heritage spots.
Made using cider from Biddenden Vineyards, Sea Salt & Vinegar with Biddenden Cider is one of Kent Crisps’ most popular flavours.
This partnership is just one of many activities planned by Leeds Castle to launch its 900thanniversary celebrations. Other events include the Big 900 Story Writing Challenge with Clare Balding, a Time Capsule burial event with HRH Princess Alexandra, and a 900th Anniversary Carnival Pageant planned for summer 2019.
Sir David Steel, Chief Executive Leeds Castle, says: “We are so pleased that Kent Crisps will be displaying Leeds Castle on its SeaSalt & Vinegar with Biddenden Cider crisp packets from now, throughout our 900thanniversary year and beyond; American Airlines who serve thousands of packets of Kent Crisps a year for its transatlantic flights will be taking this new design. Our aim, throughout 2019, is also ensuring that as many people as possible can participate in the Castle’s birthday and thereby recognise the important part it has played in English history and, especially, in the history of Kent.”
Laura Bounds, Owner and Managing Director of Kent Crisps, discusses the ethos behind the partnership
“Our ethos at Kent Crisps has always been about promoting Kent and its food, drink and tourism offering by featuring key destinations and landscapes on crisp packets and collaborating with local producers as flavour partners. Our passion lies in being able to collaborate with like-minded businesses who champion Kent, the local countryside and all it has to offer. Leeds Castle celebrating 900 years in 2019 creates the perfect opportunity for the Castle to feature on our Sea Salt & Vinegar with Biddenden Cider flavour; a collaboration which perfectly showcases Kent’s exceptional food, drink & heritage.”
Julian Barnes, Managing Director of Biddenden Vineyards and flavour partner, adds: “Having been part of Kent Crisps’ journey from the very beginning, it is exciting to feature alongside Leeds Castle. Food and tourism in Kent go hand in hand and we are proud of the partnership which highlights our great offering in the Garden of England.”
