Biddenden Vineyards has won awards in international competitions for both its wines and ciders through the month of May.
On the wine side, and following on from the success of Biddenden Ortega earlier in the year, Biddenden Bacchus has been awarded a Bronze medal in this year’s Sommelier wine awards. The awards, which saw over 1,800 wines entered, are judged by around 80 leading sommeliers (wine waiters) & wine buyers and are seen as one of the most comprehensive blind tastings held in theUK. Biddenden Bacchus is due to be released later on in the year and will be available direct from the vineyard shop.
Biddenden’s sparkling cider has once again beaten off stiff competition in the International Cider and Perry competition to be awarded second place in its class for the second year running – the only Kentish cider to have been placed in the whole competition. The same cider was also given a silver medal in the International Cider challenge run by Off licence news.
The vineyard is open daily and the full range of wines, ciders and juices are available to taste & buy, along with a wide range of locally produced chutneys, cheeses, meats, beers & more. Free tours run on selected dates – for further details on events & visiting the vineyard please see visiting us or call 01580 291726.
