The results of the WineGB Awards 2020 have been announced and we are over the moon to have been awarded a Silver for our Biddenden Pinot Reserve 2015 and Bronze for our still to be released Biddenden Ortega 2018.
Showcasing one of the world’s most exciting wine regions, the calibre of judges and competition partners make the WineGB Awards the major competition for Great Britain’s wines and wine producers.
The judging took place in July, with a reduced judging panel comprising Co-Chairs Susie Barrie MW and Oz Clarke MBE, and Rebecca Palmer, wine buyer of Corney & Barrow, tasting through a record number of wines and in very different circumstances to the normal tasting set up. With strict COVID-19 measures in place the three judges deliberated all 281 entries over 5 days and just 98 wines achieved a Silver.
Tom Barnes, General Manager, commented “We are extremely proud to have had two of our wines recognised at this year’s WineGB awards. We draw on many years of winemaking experience and work hard to consistently produce high quality wines, and so to have had both a sparkling and still wine, across two vintages, win awards is a testament to this.”
Biddenden Pinot Reserve 2015 is available to buy direct from the vineyard shop and online for home delivery via our online shop. Biddenden Ortega 2018 will be released later in the year.
