Produced in Kent’s prestigious Taste of Kent Awards 2016 are now in full swing and Biddenden Vineyards is delighted to be nominated for four categories. These include Kent Wine of the Year for Ortega, Kent Cider or Perry of the Year for Strong Kentish Cider, Kent Juice Producer of the Year and Local Food Retailer of the Year.
Julian Barnes, managing director at Biddenden, said: “We are once again thrilled to have been nominated for Produced in Kent’s Taste of Kent Awards. These awards truly showcase the very best of Kent’s food and drink industry and the broad range of producers, retailers, restaurants and farmers’ markets we have in the Garden of England. I would like to encourage everyone to vote for us and also show their support for the producers in the other categories.”
Public voting for the awards, which are now in their twelfth year, was officially opened on 16 September and will close on 4 January 2016. After the initial public vote the three finalists in each category will be put forward to be judged. Drink producers are judged by a separate panel for Best Kentish Wine, Best Kentish Cider and for the first time, this year the Best Kent Juice Producers will be subjected to a site visit by the judges, together with tasting of their range of juices.
