As it’s a Bank Holiday, we’ve chosen a very special wine for our English wine week wine of the day today.
Biddenden Gamay Noir 2018 is a small release red wine, which we produce only on exceptional years. A variety typical of the Loire Valley, we have 10 rows which were planted here at Biddenden in 1985, making the vines over 30 years old.
The grapes are picked by hand to ensure that they are at optimum ripeness before being fermented as whole bunches for 7 days prior to pressing. This ensures highly fruity aromas & taste and a striking colour. Presented in a distinctive bottle, this wine is perfect for serving chilled on a summer’s day and is an ideal picnic wine, great for enjoying in the sunshine.
