Taste of Kent Awards 13th March 2014
Last night Biddenden Vineyards’ flagship wine, Biddenden Ortega was announced ‘Best Kent Wine’ for the third year running in the 10th annual Taste of Kent Awards. The awards were held at the Kent Event Centre at Detling and were organised by Produced In Kent.
Initially, the awards are chosen by public vote followed by a final taste testing by a judging panel. The Taste of Kent Awards are highly regarded throughout the county and are used as an accreditation for establishing the best food and drink products made in Kent.
Biddenden Vineyard’s Managing Director, Julian Barnes,commented “We are really pleased to win for the third year running and to have made it a hat trick! We are delighted with the judges comment that the wine is a truly Kentish product as it is grown, made and bottled on site giving it great provenance.”
We are also thrilled to say thatTom Barnesfollowed in his fathers footsteps by taking the title of Kent Food Product Catering Class with his Dangus Gribble Bridge Beef fillet . Vineyard ManagerTom Barnes, commented ‘ It’s a great success for Biddenden Ortega for the third year running, the evening was completed with an unexpected award for Gribble Bridge Meats. I am so pleased to have been selected and won in my first year of entry!’
