We are delighted to have been awarded 90 points at the Sommelier Collective Awards for our Biddenden Sparkling Ortega Demi-Sec 2019.
The awards, run by the Sommelier Collective, took place at the Royal Cavalry & Guards Club, and were judged by professional sommeliers. The awards are aimed at the on-trade and designed to reward wines for style, price & quality. Each wine was scored out of 100, bearing in mind typicity, food-friendliness, versatility and readiness to drink.
Biddenden Sparkling Ortega Demi-Sec 2019 is produced by the traditional method using single varietal Ortega to produce a medium-sweet sparkling wine, with rich characteristic flavours and sweet green apple undertones.
Judges’ comments included:
“Beautiful elderflower character – the sweet aromatic flavours are balanced with the freshness and bubbles. This could work very well with food.”
“This wine has real personality and pizzaz. Something different that could work wonderfully with the right dessert.”
“Fruity, floral, tropical and sweet.”
