Tasting Notes
With a distinctive light colour, due to a short pick to press time, displaying floral aromas with complex nectar, honey & butterscotch notes on the palate. The finish is long, clean & crisp with the tiniest hint of black pepper on the tongue.
Produced using our signature variety, Ortega, this sweet wine showcases the very best of the spectacular 2018 harvest.
Winemaker Notes
A select parcel of Ortega grapes were left on vine until late October, allowing raisining to develop, condensing the natural sugars of the fruit. Once pressed, the wine underwent a cool fermentation, stopped at 10% vol leaving a residual sugar of 122g/l – believed to be the highest naturally occurring sugar levels ever recorded by a UK vineyard. American oak barrels were used for 6 weeks post fermentation before bottling.
Having spent 2 1/2 years in bottle, we feel we have captured all that was great about the 2018 vintage, and this wine is ready to be enjoyed now but may also be laid down to develop for a further 10 years.
A limited edition release, this wine is perfect for collectors, wrapped in luxury tissue paper and sealed in an elegant navy presentation tube.
…mind-bendingly stunning and multi-layered with exoticism, succulence and creaminess all balanced with epic acidity. This is a must for every serious sweet wine fan in the world.

Very pretty nose; quince, pear-jam, lilies. Succulent sweetness and yet it has a watercolour delicacy. More of that pear jam; dried pears, nougat and icing-sugar-dusted, pistachio-studded Turkish delight. Tiny droplets of intense clementine sweet-sharpness glittering through the satin fabric of wine.
