Strong aromas associated with the variety, fruity with a granite-dry experience.
Huxelrebe is made from riper grapes that often have Muscat-like aromas, giving it a tartness similar to rhubarb.
This wine boasts high acidity levels alongside aromas of rhubarb, apricot, honey and spice.
Winemaker Notes
Huxelrebe is a high yielding variety which ripens early. We planted Huxelrebe at Biddenden in 1972, and make a single varietal wine from this grape. Mostly found in Germany, Huxelrebe suits a cooler climate so also grows well in the UK.
