With 11 varieties grown on 23 acres Biddenden produces small batches of lesser known varieties. One of those is Huxelrebe.
Originating in Germany, it was first planted at Biddenden in 1972, this white grapes high yields and early ripening patterns allow it to make very high quality wines. Although it can be used for sweet wines, they tend to have high acidity and aromas of rhubarb with hints of muscat. Returning for the first time since 2009 for our retail customers only, this very dry, floral white wine, is something slightly different. But don’t hang around, it won’t last long!
