With harvests happening all over the county, from grapes and grain to apples and cobnuts, it was a pleasure for Biddenden to host the first outdoors Kent County Harvest Thanksgiving Service, in connection with the Diocese of Canterbury.
The service was held on Sunday 22nd October overlooking the vines, giving thanks for the contribution made by those in the food, farming and agricultural industries within Kent.
Entertainment and accompaniment came from the London Vegetable Orchestra, whose Courgette trumpet and carrot recorder showed yet another innovative outlet for the humble veg.
Cheeses from the Cheesemakers of Canterbury, cakes from Simply Fruit Cakes, ales from Goody Ales and sausages rolls from S.W. Doughty Butchers were among the wide variety of Kentish foods on offer to those who attended.
