Harvest Completed!

This year’s harvest sprung in to action roughly two weeks earlier than usual, which seems to be the same across the board with fruit. Picking commenced on the 1st September with the Ortega followed by the Reichensteiner, Bacchus and Acolon then moving on to the Dornfelder and Pinot Noir, finishing on the 10th October with the Gamay.Maeve Picking 2017
After reports of devastation in French vineyards and our own vineyard receiving all sorts of adverse weather, from the frosts in April to hail in July and of course the unwanted rains through picking. It is highly rewarding to hear that through it all we have a great crop of Ortega in the tanks along with the other Biddenden staples. With the grape harvest being over Kentish apples and pears have begun to adorn the yard, thanks to local producers, ready to meet our press whose first full season has just begun.
